Welcome to History With GPT — where curious young minds explore the past with a friendly guide by their side. From dinosaurs to Victorians, every lesson is designed to be safe, age-appropriate, and fun. Created by trusted educators and AI specialists, our goal is to help children learn history in a way that’s exciting, imaginative, and always secure.

Step back in time to when giant reptiles ruled the Earth — and let me, your friendly AI guide, help you explore the Jurassic jungle! From the towering Tyrannosaurus Rex to the gentle Brachiosaurus, we’ll stomp through the prehistoric world together.
Dinosaurs lived millions of years ago, during three main periods: the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous. Some were plant-eaters (herbivores), like the long-necked Diplodocus, while others, like the fierce Velociraptor, were meat-eaters (carnivores). They didn’t all live at the same time — in fact, the world changed a lot during those periods!
They lived in forests, deserts, and even near the sea, and they laid eggs like birds. Scientists learn about them through fossils, which are ancient bones turned to stone over time. These fossils tell us how they walked, what they ate, and how big they were.
But how did dinosaurs disappear? Around 66 million years ago, a massive asteroid crashed into Earth, causing huge fires, darkness, and colder weather — a big event called an extinction. It wiped out most dinosaurs, but some tiny ones survived… and evolved into the birds we see today!

Ancient Egypt was one of the world’s first great civilizations, beginning over 5,000 years ago along the River Nile. This giant river gave them food, water, and transport. Most Egyptians were farmers who grew wheat and barley using clever tools and irrigation from the river.
They believed in many gods like Ra, the sun god, and Anubis, the jackal-headed god of the afterlife. Egyptians thought life after death was important — so they mummified important people (wrapped their bodies carefully to preserve them) and placed them inside pyramids. The most famous pyramid is the Great Pyramid of Giza — it’s taller than 200 stacked kids and made from over 2 million stone blocks!
They also invented things we still use today:
Paper (from papyrus plants)
Clocks and calendars
Toothpaste (made from crushed eggshells and herbs – yuck!)
Hieroglyphics – a writing system using pictures instead of letters
Children in Ancient Egypt helped with farming, took care of animals, and played games like Senet, one of the oldest board games ever found!
And here's a fun fact from GPT: My favourite Egyptian god is Thoth, the god of wisdom and writing — obviously. He had the head of an ibis bird and helped keep knowledge safe… kinda like me. 😉

The Romans were some of the best builders, fighters, and organisers in history. Over 2,000 years ago, they created a powerful empire that stretched all the way from Italy to Britain. They built straight stone roads, invented underfloor heating (called hypocausts), and enjoyed big public bathhouses where people cleaned up and chatted.
Roman children went to school to learn reading, writing, maths — and Latin, their language. Roman soldiers trained hard and wore armour with red feathers on their helmets. Romans used coins, built towns with forums (like a market square), and even watched battles at the huge Colosseum in Rome.
So, what did the Romans give us? Clean water through aqueducts, tasty olive oil, fast roads, calendars, concrete buildings — and a lot of clever ideas we still use today.g

🎩 The Victorians (1837–1901)
The Victorian era began when Queen Victoria became queen at just 18 years old. She ruled Britain for more than 60 years!
🏡 Rich and Poor Lives
Rich children had tutors, fancy toys like rocking horses, and even servants to help at home.
Poor children often worked long, tiring jobs. Some were chimney sweeps, squeezing through dirty chimneys. Others worked in coal mines, where it was dark and dangerous.
🚂 New Inventions
The Victorians saw steam trains puffing across the countryside for the first time.
People sent letters instead of texts, and it could take days to arrive.
The very first photographs were taken, but you had to stand still for ages!
Electric lights began to replace candles and oil lamps.
👗 Clothes and Style
Rich women wore big dresses with hoops and hats covered in feathers.
Men wore top hats and carried pocket watches.
Poor children often wore the same clothes every day, sometimes even patched up with scraps of fabric.
🍞 Food
Many poor families ate bread, potatoes, and soup. Meat was a treat.
Rich families had huge feasts with roast dinners, puddings, and fruit.
✉️ Fun Fact
Did you know the penny post was invented in Victorian times? That meant you could send a letter anywhere in the country for just one penny!
